| As you may or may not know, Havenworld has it's own actual dedicated server running which needs to be frequently maintained by us. Now, the server's pretty old but I'm not complaining about that because it does a fairly good job and I'm doing my best to optimise everything. We quite recently upgraded the ram, and a while before that took upon the horrific task of porting everything to linux. Now there is one main problem with the server - two 10 year old hard disks. They're due to fail any time this year, are slow, running out of space, and louder than a Titan II so we desparetly need to upgrade asap. Because the server is old, we need an old type of hard disk which are being discontinued and cost £90 for the one we require. So far, we have £50 from donations. So... If you donate over £20 before the 15th of July we'll give you (obviously) donor rank status and FREE lifetime membership! | Hey there guys. Some of you may have already noticed, but i have just done the webclient, and put it on there, matt also started a PHP application which allows me and him to easily update the server and turn it on and off, which means we should get nearly 100% uptime when we are dedicated. The server hasn't got much/enough content on it to be classed as 'good' yet, admittedly. But we have decided to put it out now so that you can help out with ideas etc, this will help me get a better idea of what you - the players - want in the server. If there are any bugs etc with the server, then please just contact us nicely, i have made a new section for BETA bug reports, you should post the bugs you find in the server here, whilst it is BETA, once the server comes out of BETA stages then i will delete the BETA bug reports section and you should continue using the 'report a bug' feature that Matt created. Okay, so if you guys decide to check out the server, please post in discussion what you think so far and etc, post suggestions, BETA bug reports etc. Visit here to play and view your statistics etc. Thank you, Joshua & Matt! |

| Apologies again, but we've had to delay the launch of the Havenworld Private Server Beta Release I to Sunday 21 June because we need to finalize a few more core features. We decided to skip Alpha x releases so you get a fuller experience when you first play. It would be possible to allow everyone to play in the Alpha x stages but not everyone would understand our approach to allowing this. |

| First of all, I'd like to thank those of you again who have donated. I've used this money and some of my own to upgrade the Havenworld dedicated server I've upgraded the diabolical 256Mb of memory to 1024Mb (1Gb) so the forums and other sub-developments will run faster. Also - When our private server is finished for beta, hopefully within this month, you'll definitely notice the extra performance with a well programmed server with plenty of memory. As we grow we will need to expand our developments and hardware. As we get more players, we'll need more powerful servers. Hopefully the increase in players will provide us with enough donations to continue running and even growing. The Havenworld Team |
